I'm not sure how I feel about what happened Saturday night.

In many ways it was what I wanted. It was what I had dreamed about. In many ways it was what i had always thought it would be like.

But it wasn't perfect and the imperfections were enough to leave a bitter taste in my mind.

I mean, Daredevil was great. And it hit the right notes, it was dark but had the sly little comic references. And wire work chop socky by a Yuen Brother. Kevin Smith, Stan Lee, FUCKING HELL FRANK MILLER was in it (though I didn't quite recognize Miller so I may have to see it again just to look for him) and there were references that a fanboy loves. BUT: I mean Ben Affleck as Daredevil? And Jenniffer Garner as Elektra? And we needed more Kingpin. And I think the point is that anyone who's read the Man without Fear or the phenominal Born Again knows how DD should be and the moive got close, but it lacked that hardcore, dark grace that made the comics so badass.

Oh and on a side note my "date" had a good time and there seems to be a flicker of interest that may lead to other dates. But I'm not going to put much hope into it. After all,

a man without hope is a man without fear.
